Winnacunnet High School

Winnacunnet High School maintains a CHILD FIND Program. The purpose of this program is to locate, identify and evaluate any student who may have an educational disability and is in need of special education and related services. Any high school-aged students and any student aged 18-21 who has not yet received a high school diploma or its equivalent - who is suspected or known to have an educational disability - have an opportunity to be referred for evaluation. This opportunity applies to all children with disabilities, including highly mobile children (such as migrant and homeless children), children placed in homes for children, health care facilities, or state institutions, and children who are suspected of being eligible under IDEA, even though they are advancing from grade to grade. In addition, this applies to those children attending approved, non-public private schools within the geographic boundaries of SAU 21. The Winnacunnet Cooperative School District offers a full range of opportunities, programs and services to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities in the least restrictive educational setting. Winnacunnet Cooperative School District ensures that every child with a disability has full access to the general curriculum with accommodations and modifications as delineated in the IEP including the provision of non-academic and extra-curricular services, vocational training and transition services as appropriate.
