Western Idaho Service & Repair was established in the fall of 1990, in Fruitland, Idaho. We are at the extreme western edge of Idaho, on the Oregon/Idaho boarder. The nearest large city is Boise, Idaho, 56 miles east on Interstate 84. Having been an automobile mechanic most of my life, I suffered a back injury that made this type of work impossible for me to continue doing. With twelve years of electronics and computer experience, a degree in mechanical engineering, and having just finishing my Associate's Degree in Microcomputers and Microprocessor, I had the skills to build and service the highest quality home and business PC's that were available. At that time, there was a need for a quality PC repair and service facility in my area, but there was not much available locally. Our only choices were to drive back and forth to Boise to take care of our computer needs or utilize mail order services. Not much of a choice, either way. Hence, the establishment of Western Idaho Service & Repair. After researching many, many computer distributors and wholesale outlets, I decided the best way to give the people of my area what they wanted and needed in a computer system was to build my own . This gives me a tremendous amount of flexibility in the construction of my systems, allowing your computer system to built to your specific needs and budget considerations.. The components that we use in the construction of our systems are of the highest quality that can be obtained. Each and every system is extensively tested and "burned in" for twenty-four hours before it is set up and delivered to the customer. The other aspect of W.I.S.R. is SERVICE. We do in-house repairs, as well as on-site repairs, be it at your home or business. All of our systems come with WISR's full one year parts and labor warranty and you don't have to box your system up and mail it off or drive some place else to get warranty repairs done--WISR is locally owned and operated. All manufactures warranty apply after the one year time period (this warranty varies from manufacturer to manufacturer). After WISR's initial one-year warranty, there is a labor cost for defective parts replaced under a manufacturer's warranty, and we handle all the returns and paper work. Our normal turn around time for most repairs, warranty or not, is 24-hours or less. Due to WISR's stringent quality control, our average defect rate from 1990 thru 1996 is less than 3%. This includes new systems as well as repaired units.
