Witches Cup

The Witches Cup is at its core a community event. This is, and has been, our motivation from the day we started the race 10 years ago. Our goal was to create an event that showcased our community, drew upon the very best in our fans, volunteers, and sponsors, and shared our love of cycling. As the race organizers, we are committed to the values of our community and respecting the diversity of voices. That being said, we earnestly apologize for any comments made in poor taste and that were hurtful to many members of our community. Although we did not hear the comments personally, any comments of the nature reported to us are not in line with our values in our capacity as race organizers, and as individuals. We have had a long and frank conversation with the person that made the comments that have been brought to our attention. He is sincere in his regret and has apologized to us, our sponsors and volunteers, the city leadership, and to the community as a whole. We are resolute in our commitment to our community and to creating a welcoming and safe place. We will learn from this. Our promise is to continue to provide an event that reflects Salem's values and showcase a city in which we have been privileged to be apart of for the last 10 years. The Witches Cup is labor of love, and we hope to continue to share this great event with our fans, sponsors, volunteers, and officials for many years to come.
