WiTWA
Established in 1998, WiTWA was started to form a network to support women who found themselves in heavily male-dominated industries. First incorporated as 'Women in IT WA' in 2005, we re-branded to ''Women in Technology WA' in 2010 and added the [+] in 2019 to acknowledge the range of backgrounds in our organisation - we are not just limited to tech! Our supporter base is more than 3,000 strong and counting; WiTWA operates as a mission-driven not for profit network under the governance of a highly experienced group of women who are veritable champions for diversity and equality for women in tech [+] in Western Australia. We promote our motto by highlighting the amazing work done by women throughout all industries in the tech [+] space. We do this through our Role Models page, annual WiTWA Tech [+] Awards and any other ways we can think of. What does tech [+] mean? We started using the term tech [+] because being diverse means Women in Tech WA support and develop women and young people in technology, science and innovation, as well as welcoming those who identify outside of these industries. We are gender inclusive and encourage membership from anyone who supports and champions our cause. We celebrate and support women who are all about tech [+] and we aim to encourage those who aspire to all things tech [+].
