WordPress is open source software that began as a blogging tool and has evolved to be used as a full Content Management System (CMS). An extensive selection of themes and plugins created by third parties are available to WordPress users. Companies, government organizations, community groups and bloggers are all attracted by user-friendly functions and the ease with which content can be created and updated. The CMS tool has a global market share exceeding 58.5%* and usage is expected to further expand in 2013. WordPress is used by over 18.7%* of all websites or one out of every six websites across the Internet. One of the advantages of having been created as an Open Source project is that the WordPress user community is very active, in 2012 alone WorldCamp, organized by community volunteers, was held 67 times in locations all over the world.
