World Earthquakes
World Earthquakes is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation which offers free public earthquake information services. It was founded on 11th of March, 2010, exactly one year before the Mw 9.0 Tohoku Earthquake . Articles and information regarding the earthquake statistics and forecasting can be republished without written approval if a link to this site is present (online articles) or with a clear reference to www.world-earthquakes.com (paper press). World Earthquakes seeks to facilitate cooperation in seismological research and earthquake and tsunami hazard mitigation by providing rapid transnational access to seismological data and source parameters of earthquakes around the world, and keeping these data accessible in the long term. Using best mathematical methods and complex algorithms, World Earthquakes calculates the possiblity of the next Mw 6.5+ earthquake in a particular zone or country and it is based on USGS, EMSC and GEOFON earthquake dataseries from the present and the past. In the present, the algorithm is supposed to be the best tool for calculating, statistically, the probability of the next possible future earthquake in a certain area or zone. The World Earthquakes Information Service is: the best and the fastest sources for earthquake information worldwide; calculating the probability of occurence of the future possible Mw 6.5+ earthquake; fully automatic; issuing notification emails and RSS feeds; helping people with best informations in case of such natural disasters; The Global Seismic Monitor is a world map of global seismicity located automatically using the global virtual seismic network. Detailed information including hypocenter coordinates and a location map are displayed for the last earthquakes in the world.
