Upon registering with the Tourism Council of Bhutan in 2003, Yak Holidays was established to cater to people looking for tailor-made private trips in our breathtakingly serene Himalayan Kingdom. With a staff from diverse backgrounds, dedicated and passionate about their craft, we can proudly claim that we specialize in adventure holidays as well and group travel. Our team's unwavering passion and hard work resulted in Yak Holidays International being nominated by the National Geographic Society for the Ashoka Change Makers' Award in 2007-08. The honor was bestowed to us in recognition for our endeavors to educate travelers and create awareness in the process about the nomadic lifestyle unique to Bhutan, and for upholding local laws governing cultural and environmental preservation practices. The honor is proof enough that Yak Holidays adheres strictly to the tenets of responsible tourism. We strongly feel that your visit should economically benefit the local people. Hence, our tours and treks are arranged in ways that enhance the well-being of host communities. Our track record of excellence in the tourism industry is because we give our fullest attention even to the minutest detail and, we value our guests and their sensibilities. Being a member of the Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators (ABTO) - Yak Holidays - to play our part in showcasing Bhutan to the world, has brought out a travel documentary titled "Bhutan - Where Happiness Breathes.
