Yireo
Yireo was originally founded by the Dutch company Jira ICT. Over the years, the founders of both Jira ICT as Yireo were busy with hosting, templating, site development, programming, consultancy and education. At this moment Jira ICT and Yireo are two separate entities, not related to each other. End of 2008, the concept for a tutorial club was born, thanks to the knowledge and experience with Joomla! and Magento. The tutorials were written, but a structure for commercial memberships was never finished. Instead, the lack of certain extensions caused Yireo to think about releasing both free as commercial software. Starting with the Joomla! component SimpleLists, Yireo got a new boost. Mid 2009, various Magento and Joomla! developers talked about a bridge between Magento and Joomla!, and after some lead developers decided not to pick this up personally, Yireo decided to move into this gap: MageBridge was born out of this. While the bridge was built only within a few weeks time, making the extension-suite functional but user-friendly took up a much larger amount of time. MageBridge became much more than just a bridge, it become a whole new technology. Since then, Yireo has been working on various Magento and Joomla! extensions, while MageBridge and Vm2Mage still form the main chunks of code. The number of tutorials still increases monthly. We are happy to serve our users and customers with both our software as well as our documentation. In 2011, Yireo became an independant company without any ties to any Dutch company. In 2012, Yireo has started to move towards a more full open source approach of all its projects, including MageBridge.
