Yogaia

Yogaia is a MOVEMENT PRACTICE that honors, reflects and interacts with the rhythmic life waves of the planet. Yoga means union, and Gaia is a name of our beautiful conscious planet, Earth. Yogaia draws from an ancient practice that balances and harmonizes individual awareness with Gaia consciousness, creating a healing relationship between human and planet. Yogaia connects the flow of energy through your body to the universal flow, revitalizing, stimulating and harmonizing. Based in a NATURAL UNDULATING WAVE MOTION of the spine, Yogaia strengthens, opens, relaxes, stretches and balances you. The wave flow reflects a wide range of movements that are familiar from dance, yoga, sports, martial arts, and meditation, uniting them in a continuous, fluid, and unique spinal wave-motion. There are 12 BASIC MOVEMENTS and countless variations. You learn to listen to your body and reflect its needs through the movements in a flowing sequence. A primary focus is to open the spine so that each vertebra is free to enhance your vitatlity. Yogaia is GLORIFIED WHEN PRACTICED IN NATURE and is inspired by the movement of all natural waves. Practicing by the ocean, or in the jungle listening to animal sounds, or even in your own backyard, are powerful ways to re-unite with nature. Even in your living room, Yogaia carries you back to your essential union with Gaia. The Key to Yogaia is the undulating spinal wave, in every movement of the practice, whether standing, sitting, or kneeling, bending back and forwards, twisting, reclining, or upside down. Every wave has two phases, TUCKING and EXTENDING, which repeat again and again. Extension opens the front of the body; it is Yang and masculine, the energy moves up and outwards. Tucking opens the back of the body, it is Yin and feminine, the energy (Gaia life force) is gathered in. Yogaia honors the tuck as much as the extension.
