Zenki Dojo is home to the best trainers and instructors in the area. All our instructors and staff are high level instructors with professional experience and well renowned recognition. We offer a practical approach to self-defense and fighting-along with a state-of-the-art gym and personal fitness training. Zenki Dojo is an official Royce Gracie network school and Rodrigo Gracie Jiu-jitsu team. Zenki Dojo was first established in 1997 as Universal Core Karate Academy. School founder and Sensei (Teacher) Tim Santos changed the named to Zenki Dojo in 2012 to better reflect the spirit of the martial arts and physical training the dojo offers. The word Zenki combines two concepts: Zen refers to the meditative practice and a calm state of mind; Ki means energy, life-force, breath. Zenki Dojo's approach embodies both these concepts. Zenki Dojo is a family oriented Martial Arts Training Academy. Tim Santos, Zenki Dojo's founder, had a diverse martial arts curriculum in mind when he opened the school in 1997. The variety of classes at Zenki Dojo reflect Santos' own extensive martial arts training background-white crane kung fu, judo, muay thai and Gracie jiu jitsu to name a few. Sensei Santos is a fifth-degree black belt in the art of Kenpo Jitsu Ryu-a modern form of karate steeped in tradition that blends the circular motions of kung fu with the power punches of shotokan and the grips and limb-locks of jujitsu. The iconic Bruce Lee combined fighting styles to create his own martial art form. Santos reflects that innovative approach in his Kenpo Jitsu Ryu teaching and in Zenki Dojo's multi-disciplinary curriculum.
