Zitamar News provides reliable and intelligent daily news and analysis on Mozambique's economy, politics, and business sectors, with a particular focus on the extractive industry. Zitamar News is written and edited in Maputo by Tom Bowker and Leigh Elston, and by Gavriel Hollander in London. Leigh Elston is freelance Africa Editor at Interfax Global Energy, a leading energy business publication focused on natural gas, LNG and gas to power. Since relocating from London to Mozambique in 2014, she has followed the development of the gas industry in Mozambique and other countries in sub Saharan Africa and has been the first to break news on energy projects in the region. Leigh has covered global oil and gas markets and projects since 2007, for Infrastructure Journal, Gas Strategies, Bloomberg News, and Interfax. Tom Bowker is a freelance journalist and Mozambique correspondent for publications including the FT's This Is Africa, The Africa Report, the Financial Mail, and Petroleum Economist. From September 2014 to December 2015 he was Bloomberg News' Mozambique correspondent. Before relocating from London to Maputo ahead of Mozambique's 2014 elections, he spent five years as journalist and editor at Infrastructure Journal, followed by stints as a financial writer at Moody's Investors Service, focusing on infrastructure projects and companies and most recently as news editor at Central Banking, covering global macroeconomics and monetary policy. Gavriel Hollander is an experienced UK-based business journalist. He has written about infrastructure, the built environment, finance and politics for a number of leading UK business magazines.
