Prague Zoo
Firstly, on Monday, January 6, Prague Zoo, which has been working with its Australian colleagues for many years, called on the public to support the Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund managed by Zoos Victoria. At the same time, it made a proposal to the Prague City Council that it release AUD 10,000 from the Three Crowns from Entry project to go to this account. This proposal was briskly approved by the Council and funds for emergency veterinary care and other causes were immediately transferred to Australia. Visitors to Prague Zoo also asked if it could provide a means for people to contribute directly. Therefore, the Zoo has set up a special variable symbol for donations to help Australia. This is part of the existing account for the "We Help Them to Survive" collection. In just two weeks the public sent 11,240,326 crowns to this "sub-account". In accordance with its certificate, the funds donated to help Australia by means of Prague Zoo's "We Help Them to Survive" collection can only be used to support projects and conservation or research organisations that contribute to nature conservation and protecting endangered animal species. Prague Zoo is currently preparing to provide funds for the above-mentioned account managed by Zoos Victoria - Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund, for the NSW Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service (WIRES), Australia's largest wildlife rescue organisation, as well as for Adelaide Zoo to support koalas and other Australian organisations that research and protect various endangered species.
